Cost & Insurance

Learn about the cost of weight management services at St. Elizabeth Physicians and whether they are covered by your insurance.

Weight Management Cost & Insurance Eligibility

Participation in a weight-loss program is one of the best ways you can invest in your future. Many of the weight-loss services offered at St. Elizabeth Physicians Weight Management Center may be covered by insurance, depending on the specifics of your coverage.

Each insurance has its own set of criteria and requirements. Although it may seem daunting at first, be assured that we are here to walk beside you every step of the way. We will guide you through the process and help you identify what your insurance will cover and what is not eligible. Our experienced, compassionate weight-loss team looks for ways to maximize your coverage and helps you understand and meet any requirements your insurance has in place. We also offer a self-pay option at a discounted cost.

Weight-Loss Surgery Program

Weight-loss surgery is different than other surgeries. Your insurance will require you to follow a series of steps before you are eligible for surgery, including a psychological evaluation. It is important to understand that even though you may meet medical qualifications for surgery, this does not guarantee that your insurance provider will approve payment for your surgery. We work with you to determine what type of coverage you have in place, what is required for eligibility and how we can maximize your benefits.

Weight-loss Programs

Whether you’re interested in bariatric surgery or just want to lose 20 pounds, the Weight Management Center has a weight-loss program for you.

Meal Replacement Cost

Our medical weight-loss program features the New Direction® meal replacement product line. Our meal replacements cost $23 a box, which contains seven meals. Cost per meal comes to $3.29 each.

Meal replacements are not typically covered by insurance but they are often more economical than your average grocery or restaurant cost. For example, roughly 70% of Americans eat fast food at least three times a week, spending an average of $10 per meal. At $3.29 for a meal replacement you can have three meals for less than what one typical trip through the drive-through would cost.

The average American typically spends about $150 per week on groceries. Your cost using meal replacements will vary according to your plan, but you could experience substantial savings in addition to weight loss.

The St. Elizabeth Physicians Weight Management Center also offers a 10% discount to those who attend the education classes.
